Reaching Teens Training for Parents - Body language

Precisely because low expectation-in the guise of fear, derision, or judgement-is transmitted through body language, it may be the most critical tool in leveling the power dynamic, conveying genuine comfort, and communicating positive regard.
It may be particularly important to consider the message our bodies communicate when we serve marginalized youth because they have learned to be hypervigilant to others’ judgements and intentions.
