Event description

Description

In celebration of World Water Day, the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) are hosting a workshop to discuss collaboration around the Global Water Strategy as the U.S. government’s unified framework for addressing pressing water challenges through diplomacy, foreign assistance, science, and technology.

The event will include viewpoints from the U.S. Department of State, USAID, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Department of Agriculture, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Geological Survey, U.S. Bureau for Reclamation, and other agencies to be confirmed. The morning sessions will be live streamed.

A networking lunch will provide an opportunity to meet representatives from various U.S. government agencies that contributed to the Strategy. Attendees will select two of the four afternoon breakout sessions listed below to discuss the opportunities and challenges involved in implementing the Strategy:

  • Drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene
  • Water sector governance, finance, and institutions
  • Water resources management
  • Transboundary water cooperation

Doors open at 8:30 am. View the agenda for more details.

NOTE: Registration for this event is limited. Morning sessions (9 a.m.–noon) will be broadcast on livestream.com. If you plan to watch the live stream, please do not register for the in-person event.
