PK-2 Literacy: Great Teaching Happens on Purpose!

There is a difference between Planning and Preparation. Planning is "what" you will teach. Preparation involves thinking through "how" you will engage the students while teaching.  Come to this session to learn from a Title 1 teacher and a principal how they have improved student learning by teaching on purpose. This school is using the "walk to intervention" model to teach all students based on what they know and what they need to learn.  Two REACH Coaches will demonstrate how to determine what instruction a student needs using videos and specific student samples.

The ABCs of DoK for ELA

This session intends to increase understanding of assessment shifts and provide guidance for shifting instructional practices for English language arts classes aligned to the new academic standards for grades 3-12. Participants will review sample assessment items, share supporting classroom strategies, and discuss alignment to the Oklahoma Academic Standards.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Please bring your printed ticket with you. Once you arrive at check-in OSDE staff will scan your ticket, which will check you in online. If you lose your ticket OSDE staff will be able to look up your registration via your name.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

Yes, this is okay. As long as you have a ticket to be scanned during check-in the name on the ticket does not need to match the attendee. We realize situations arise that require a person other than who orginally registered to attend the event.
