CSU EXTENSION Re-Certification Cottage Food Safety Online training

***(only for those that have previously taken the CSU Extension Cottage Food Safety Training and need re-certification)

Time: 6:00 to 7:30 pm

Via: Webinar online training only instructors have access to microphone and camera. Participants questions will be fielded through the Chat feature. The test will be completed after the webinar via Survey Monkey. *No driving required for this statewide re-certification training just a computer with internet access.

Online Connection: Once you register for the Re-Certification Food Safety training you will receive an email from Anne Zander (azander@bouldercounty.org) providing you the ZOOM webinar link for the statewide online training. The Survey Monkey online test link will be provided to all participants after the training.

Deadline for Registration : January 21st 4:30pm

Cost: $25 for online training, test, and laminated CSU Extension Cottage Food Safety Certificate.

This Statewide cottage food safety re-certification training provides a 3-year certificate. It meets the food safety training requirement for the Colorado Cottage Foods Act.

Training will review food safety guidelines and specifics for operating a small cottage food business from a home kitchen. The most current Colorado Cottage Food Act revisions will be reviewed.

Training will cover:

  • Basics of proper hygiene
  • Preventing cross contamination and cross-contact of food allergens
  • Temperature control for safe food preparation, storage, transporting product
  • Offering samples
  • Food grade packing
  • Allowable food products

Instructors will be available to answer questions related to re-certification. Participants that pass the test receive a laminated CSU Extension Cottage Food Safety certificate that is accepted throughout Colorado. Participants are encouraged to post their updated food safety certificate for customers to see and use as a marketing tool.
