Description

The rayCloud editing Tips & Tricks workshop is intended to review suggested workflows for editing the dense point cloud with the intent of improving the 3D textured mesh, DSM and orthomosaic. We will review processing options for point cloud generation and strategies to produce cleaner point clouds, in addition, to clean up “noise” when necessary.

  • Understand sources of point cloud noise within a Pix4D project.

  • Streamline data selection & rayCloud navigation.

  • Review Point Cloud Classification steps, with focus on Ground and Road Surface classes.

Q: Should I bring my drone to the Workshop?

A: Please DO NOT bring your drone to the workshop. This is a training about software. Under no circumstances will drones be permitted to fly during the workshop. DO NOT fly your drone at or around the workshop venue.

Q: Should I bring my laptop to the User Workshop?

A: Please ensure that you bring a laptop computer with the latest version of Pix4Dmapper installed to the User Workshop so that you may follow along during the hands-on exercises. Ensure that your computer is equipped with Windows, has at least 16 GB RAM, 20 GB free hard drive space, and a GPU that supports OpenGL 3.2. Pix4D does not provide loaner computers. We also suggest that users bring a computer mouse to facilitate 3D navigation in the software.

Q: When does the workshop take place? What time does the workshop start and finish?

A: Doors to the venue open and registration begins at 8:30 AM. The presentation begins at 9:00 AM. The presentation ends at 5:30 PM.

Q: Do I need a license to Pix4Dmapper to attend the workshop?

A: It is not necessary that you own a license to Pix4Dmapper to attend the workshop. If you do not own a license to Pix4Dmapper you will be provided with a license for the duration of the workshop.

Q: Can I attend the workshop remotely by WebEx, phone, or conference call?

A: The workshop may be attended in person and is not available for remote attendance.

Q: Is food provided at the workshop?

A: Coffee, refreshments, and lunch will be provided throughout the day.

Q: Are discounts available for educational institutions or non-profit organizations?

A: Educational discounts are available, please contact the Pix4D training team for more information.
