Team Rayceen presents Rayceen’s Reading Room, hosted by Rayceen Pendarvis, with authors, poets, comedians, and more!

We kick off DC Public Library’s Banned Book Week (#UncensoredDC) with the third edition of Rayceen’s Reading Room (#RRRDC).

Scheduled guests and performers include:

Former DC Councilmember Carol Schwartz of DC, who will read from her recently self-published memoir.

Author Cheryl Head, who will read from one of her novels.

Author and Chair of the annual OutWrite LGBTQ literary festival, Dave Ring.

Poet and winner of the 2018 #AskRayceen Poetry Slam, Xemiyulu Manibusan Tapepechul.

Interview with emcee, entertainer, and co-host of Swerv Magazine's The Swerv Show, Tony Nelson.

Special performance by Young Playwrights' Theater

Arrive at 6pm for our pre-show mixer; light refreshments will be provided. The show will begin at 7pm. This event is free and open to the public.

Venue: Shaw Library is located at the corner of 7th Street NW, R Street NW, and Rhode Island Ave NW. It is across the street from the Shaw-Howard Metro Station on R Street NW. We will be in the Meeting Room located on the lower floor. After entering the library, take either the elevator or steps down one floor. The building and the room are wheelchair accessible. Please contact Team Rayceen if you are available to volunteer for this event.
