Description

Join the Jeffco Open Space team and Adaptation Management as we track rattlesnakes. Part of a Jefferson County Open Space Small Research Grant, this project is looking at the movements, home ranges, and important habitat features of Prairie Rattlesnakes at North Table Mountain Park.

Meet: at North Table Mountain West Trailhead, 4758 Hwy 93 at 8:00 a.m.

Bring: water, sun protection, snacks and any field allergy meds including epipen, inhaler, etc.

Wear: closed-toe shoes and pants. Snake gaiters will be provided.

Weather dependent.

  • Under 18 must be accompanied by adult or parent
  • Must be willing to complete pre and post survey and waivers
  • Must be able to walk up to three miles on uneven terrain
  • Fear of snakes is welcome!
