In this 1 hour session we will apply the 'ABC Theory of Emotional Disturbance' in counselling practice. Developed by Dr. Albert Ellis this 'model of mind' can be found at the core of other popular therapies e.g. CBT, Choice Theory, Positive Psychology. Rational Emotive Behaviour Counselling helps clients understand why they act and feel as they do and offers insights and strategies that can help them help themselves.
This session is for counsellors in particular but also for educators and allied professionals. All participants will receive a certificate of attendance. This workshop provides 3 hours of professional learning credit - attendance, readings and follow up activity.
This is the first of 3 sessions scheduled for term 2. Session 2 is scheduled for 9/6 and session 3 for 30/6.
