Event description

Description

The Northern California Rapid Immigration Response Network is a collaborative effort by immigration and civil rights advocates to respond to immigration enforcement actions in Northern California. The Network’s goal is to provide support to every community within the jurisdiction of the San Francisco Immigration Court – from Bakersfield to the Oregon border – to protect the due process rights of every individual and keep families together.

The Justice and Diversity Center is hosting a volunteer orientation on October 5th 2017 on behalf of the network to bring volunteer attorneys, mentors and pro-bono coordinators together to discuss the Rapid Response Network's goals and strategies as well other needs in our communities.

The orientation will include information on subsequent trainings, opportunities to get involved and information on the development of Rapid Response Networks throughout the Bay Area. The orientation will be joined by our local partners including representatives from The Lawyers Committee for Civil rights, UC Hastings Center for Gender and Refugee Studies among others.

This orientation is for all attorneys, including those who do not have immigration experience.
