Description

Ranger Naturalist Program: A Bright Futures Program at Weedon Island
Thursdays and Fridays June 8 - July 28, 2017

Is your high school student looking for something fun and productive to do this summer? Each summer, high school students from around Tampa Bay build leadership skills, learn about the natural environment, earn volunteer hours, and make lasting friendships at the Weedon Island Ranger Naturalist Program.

Through the program, students will take part in experiential learning activities including nature hikes, guided canoe trips, invasive plant removal days, and coastal cleanups. All volunteers will be trained to assist guests that are visiting the Education Center and trails, as well as develop individual projects that support the mission of the Education Center. Volunteer hours may be applied to Florida Bright Futures Scholarships for those eligible.

Applications for the program (students ages 15-18) are now due Wednesday, May 24, and students will be notified of their acceptance into the program by Friday, May 26, 2017. Application can be downloaded at
