ABOUT THE ARTIST

Join us for a special evening celebrating the release of the brand new Ralph Covert solo album, Talking to the Time, followed by a 25th anniversary performance of his first, Eat At Godot’s. He will be joined by keyboardist Mike Hartigan, guitarist Alec Lehrmann, as well other special guests. In addition to playing both albums in sequence, Covert will hand-pick favorite tunes from his 24 album career. It will bean amazing night of music, and one not to be missed.

GRAMMY-nominated artist Ralph Covert’s career has spanned genres, decades, and continents. His 90s pop outfit The Bad Examples toured coast to coast in Americaand in Europe, and his family music project Ralph’s World culminated in world-wide TV play on the Disney Channel and headlining shows in venues like the Ravinia Festival in Chicago, Symphony Space in New York, and the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. He’s opened for artists like Paul Simon and Bob Dylan, and played festivals like Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, and he’s performed concerts everywhere from Amsterdam to Singapore. His newest album, Talking to the Time, is a raw and shimmering collection that evokes the spare acoustics of Elliott Smith balanced with the sonic craftiness of Beck, all to the service of Covert’s McCartney-esque melodies and stirring lyrics. His Sunday, August 12 release show will feature the new album performed in its entirety, followed by a 25th Anniversary recreation of his first solo album, 1993’s Eat At Godot’s, about which Billboard Magazine wrote, "Heart-tugging...a sad way to meet Covert, but an acquaintance well worth making."
