Rally to Stop the Mask Mandate
Event Information
About this event
UPDATED 1.3.2022: Due to the more-impactful-than-expected snow storm today, we are moving our event online. It is CRUCIAL that you still attend. The Commissioners are watching our every move and need to know we will "gather" in opposition to everything they propose. We'll livestream the event together and our special guest, Matt Morgan, will still join us!
Don't forget to sign up to testify tomorrow between 8am and 4pm. You'll be able to jump off the livestream to call in and then jump back in. We'll share rebuttal talking points to pro-mask callers, share strong talking points to strengthen your own public comments, and have a lot of fun without worrying whether the roads are even passable. Invite friends and spread the word!
PS - They are having the Board of Education present at 4:00pm, so we will get started at 3:30! Jump on the call whenever you can!
UPDATED 12.29.2021: The Commissioners postponed the December hearing to January 12 and then moved it UP to January 4. This is their right to do as they are following procedure to pass this as an emergency piece of legislation. Therefore, we will enact our rally plan on January 4. WE NEED YOU TO BE THERE!
After being taken to court for their illegal state of emergency and our continuing criticism of their illegitimate "Board of Health" mandate, the Charles County Commissioners rescinded their ongoing/unenforceable mask mandate on November 30.
For what can only seem to be a prideful need to execute unlimited power over private citizens, the Commissioners set a public hearing to consider reimplementing the mask mandate through the "proper legal course of things". Public comments are now open and you should make your thoughts known immediately.
They have set the hearing for December 15 from 6:00pm-9:00pm (signup to speak by calling 301-885-2779 on December 15, 2021 between 8a.m. and 4p.m.). The hearing will be VIRTUAL, so we intend to rally on site in the parking lot of the Commissioner's building from 5:30pm until the conclusion of the hearing so that a visible showing of our true strength will be on display for the Commissioners and the community as a whole.
We will have wifi hotspots, laptops, and spot lights so that those who have signed up to testify will be able to do so from the rally. If you are not testifying, WE NEED YOUR PHYSICAL PRESENCE AT THE RALLY. Bring your entire family and as many friends as possible.

We'll have merchandise for sale that benefits our ongoing lawsuit against the commissioners (you can also donate here). We're working on some Food Trucks and we'll have water to share.
