Event description

Description

Join us in boycotting Hogan's Potomac Pipeline hearing. Until the Hogan administration listens to the people, we will raise our voices in protest. We will be picketing outside the hearing from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 22nd at Hancock Middle-Senior High School, while Hogan's administration hosts the second meeting of the Potomac Pipeline.

It is clear that the Hogan administration is running down the clock on our voices. With only 2 and a half months to go the Hogan administration has not addressed our concerns urging them to review and deny the 401 water certification that is needed for TransCanada's Potomac Pipeline to go forward.

That's why we are boycotting the second public hearing of the Hogan administration's Wetlands and Waterways permit. This hearing does not address our primary concern that the Hogan's administration does a separate analysis that looks at the potential dangers and hazards of this particular project. This pipeline should not be given a blank check with a general permit that does not look at the sensitive karst geology that this fracked-gas pipeline would run through let alone that it would cut through the Potomac River-- endangering the drinking water source for over 6 million people.

For those of you who were not able to share your testimony with the MDE officials at the first hearing and still wish to speak, we encourage you to still go inside and share your testimony with a message of solidarity and then join fellow pipeline resisters outside.
