Let's blow out the agony we got this year by this comical but sweet *Rakugo story "Dreams" year end!

The night will be hosted by Ken Saito who will perform a Rakugo story in English, directed by a wonderful director Jim Boerlin from HB Studio in NY, one of the best performing arts school.

❖What's Rakugo?

Rakugo is a form of Japanese verbal entertainment. The lone storyteller sits on stage, using only a paper fan and a small handkerchief as props, and without standing up from sitting position, the rakugo artist depicts a long and complicated comical or sentimental story. The story always involves the dialogue of two or more characters. The difference between the characters depicted only through change in pitch, tone, and a slight turn of the head. It's so unique and so much fun to watch! 　

❖The Story “Dreams”

It's one of the best Rakugo stories of all time that has been handed down from generation to generation years and years because of such beauty of the story. It's so much fun, comical and also such a sweet story about a lovely marriage couple lived in Tokyo in the past.　

Intro of the story　

Once upon a time, there was a fish dealer named Katsu in Tokyo, he’s the most skillful and popular one. however, He is so lazy because he has a big problem with sake and Kiku, his wife always worries about him. One day, he found a lost wallet at a beach. Their slapstick starts with this unordinary incident...

❖オンラインで落語パフォーマンスのイベントをします！

年末なので名作『芝浜』を英語版にアレンジしたものをお送りする予定です。

（なお、日本語と英語の字幕を入れる予定です）

鑑賞の前後にあいさつや雑談などもまじえて1時間くらいのイベントにする予定です。

この大変な一年の年の瀬に皆さんに素敵なお話で心温まるひと時をお届けできるようにリハーサルも頑張っておりますので、お忙しいこととは思いますがご都合があえばぜひぜひお越しいただければと思います。
