Description

Teenagers are constantly dealing with change and growth at this point in their lives. Raising them through this crucial stage shouldn’t be a challenge.

On Sunday October 29th, join Shaykh Daood Butt, Director of Religious Affairs at Dawanet, and Sister Hina Mirza, experienced Family Therapist, for a workshop dedicated to parents with teenagers, at Understanding Islam Academy (UIA).

The following workshop will discuss challenges parents can expect when bringing up a teenager and how they can deal with them effectively.

Topics covered during the workshop include:

• Understanding adolescence (hormones, socio-cultural pressure, etc)

• Effective communication as a family

• Having tough conversations

• Raising young adults with moral and social responsibility

• Crisis management toolkit

Along with the various techniques and research presented by Sister Hina, Shaykh Daood will be covering the consequences of not teaching children their Deen, and the consequences that arise from that. From practical tips to religious advice, this workshop will supply you with the knowledge to create a trusting, supportive, and loving bond with your child during their teenage years, inshaAllah.
