Event description

Description

Dr. Gow will talk about healthy eating. Developing healthy eating habits is challenging in a world full of unhealthy options. Join us to learn practical parenting strategies to improve your family's health. We will talk about the importance of eating and activity routines, role-modeling healthy behaviors, reducing power struggles about food, and fostering a healthy body image.

Rachel Gow is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in the prevention and treatment of eating and weight related problems. She is a clinical provider at the Healthy Lifestyles Clinic (HLC) at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) at Virginia Commonwealth University where she provides evidence based treatments for disordered eating across the weight spectrum to children and adolescents. She has worked on several research projects evaluating prevention and treatment of pediatric obesity with children and adolescents and their families. Currently, she is evaluating a project for adolescents with binge eating and obesity.
