1. Maxeme (Max) Tuchman - CEO & Co-Founder, Caribu

Raised $1M in Equity Crowdfunding, one of Inc. Magazine’s Top 100 Female Founders in 2019

Maxeme (Max) Tuchman is the CEO and Co-Founder of Caribu, an interactive video-calling platform that helps kids have virtual playdates with family and friends when they can’t be physically together. Caribu is one of TIME Magazine’s Best Inventions, made Fast Company’s list of World Changing Ideas, was named one of the ‘Top Ten EdTech Companies to Watch’ in Forbes, and became one of the most innovative startups in the world by winning the 1776 Global Challenge Cup. Max has been the winner or finalist in 30+ pitch competitions, is the 59th Latina in the US to raise over $1M in venture funding and the first Latinx founder to raise $1M in Equity Crowdfunding, and was named as one of Inc. Magazine’s Top 100 Female Founders in 2019.

She has worked in almost every level of education from being a public school teacher, a consultant at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Executive Director of Teach For America, and manager of education projects under NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and DC Public Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee. Before co-founding Caribu, Max was appointed by President Obama to serve as a White House Fellow at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. She is a first-generation Cuban-American and college student, and a graduate of the Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs and the Miami Fellows Leadership Program. Max is a Toyota Mother of Invention and received her MBA & MPP from Harvard.

2. Jonny Price - Director of Fundraising Wefunder

Jonny leads the Business Development team at Wefunder, which helps founders raise capital from anyone, through equity crowdfunding. Wefunder has funded hundreds of early-stage startups with $150M (average raise is $350K), exposing them to over 600K potential investors on the Wefunder platform.

Jonny is originally from the UK, where he started his career in strategy consulting with Oliver Wyman. In 2011, he joined the non-profit Kiva.org as the Founder and Director of its U.S. lending division. In early 2018, he joined Wefunder, where his primary role is recruiting great companies that are excited to use crowdfunding to raise capital and gain customers. He serves on the Federal Reserve Board's Community Advisory Council, and has a degree in History from the University of Cambridge. His proudest accomplishment is to be the dad of Felicity and Carlyle.

3. Chuck Pettid - CEO Republic and Co-Producer of the international television show Meet the Drapers

Chuck is CEO, Republic Crowdfunding Portal, a leading equity crowdfunding site, and co-producer of the international television show Meet the Drapers. He is also GP of micro VC fund RainmakeMe, sat on the boards of Ruby Love (aka PantyProp), RidersShare, CrowdSmart and is an active mentor at 500 Startups and MassChallenge. Chuck has an MBA from Fordham Gabelli School of Business and a BS from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
