The Do's and Don'ts of Disability Disclosure Webinar.

Presenter: Jennifer Thomas, IEL Youth Development Specialist

Jennifer Thomas

Jennifer joined the Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL) in 2013 as a youth development specialist for the IEL-led National Collaborative for Workforce and Disability for Youth (NCWD/Youth). She is responsible for coordinating youth development and leadership efforts. Prior to joining IEL, Jennifer was the Project Director for National Kids As Self-Advocates (KASA).

This webinar will discuss:

  • the importance of disability disclosure,
  • ways to do it, and
  • when the time "is right"

Materials will be made available that will support youth and families with this important issue.

The National Resources for Access, Independence, Self-Advocacy and Employment (RAISE) Technical Assistance Center is a project of the Statewide Parent Advocacy Network.   The RAISE Center offers user-centered technical assistance that understands the needs and resources of the RSA-funded Parent Training and Information Centers and collaborates with them and other partners to improve products and services for individuals with disabilities and their families.  The RAISE Center is funded by the US Department of Education, Rehabilitation Service Administration.
