Bullies, windbags and good ol’ boys beware. Molly Ivins is back on the attack. Raise Hell: The Life & Times of Molly Ivins, a tribute to this legend of American journalism, plays September 21,22 and 23 at The Guild Cinema. After 40 years as a crusading news reporter and columnist, Molly died in 2007 in Austin, but her reporting – fearless, irreverent and laugh-out-loud funny – still inspires truth tellers in New Mexico and across the country. The Guild joins the investigative reporters of Searchlight New Mexico in paying tribute to Molly with the screening of director Janice Engel’s Raise Hell. The new documentary tells the story of a reporter who combined humor and brilliance to fight for underdogs and to challenge the status quo.
