Event description
Join us for a day of fun, love, inspiration and education as we hold our first FUNraising event!

About this Event

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."

On June 12, 2016, a 29-year-old American security guard, killed 49 people and wounded 53 others in a mass shooting inside Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, United States. The shooting at Pulse was one of the most deadly mass shootings of all time.

Please join us as we bring light to this event, and in remembering the 49 angels and the survivors! Our goal is to raise $100,000 for scholarships in the name of the victims and survivors of the Pulse Nightclub shooting. We are excited to come together, grow, spread awareness and keep the memory of these angels alive!

What the day will look like:

Arrive at 9:15AM for coffee and refreshments at The Network Salon

Class will start at 10 AM where we will have guest speakers from onePULSE foundation!

Around 10:30, Gina Bianca @iamginabianca and Joshua Ladner @itsmrjladner will be demonstrating rainbow creative color techniques.

We will break for snacks and stretching & hugs!

Next, founder of The Dress Code Project, Kristin Renkin will provide a gender affirming salon space training. The training will cover:

•Topics that are relevant to today’s language used in an aware and inclusive environment.

• We provide facts about how this sort of atmosphere can gain confidence in employee to employee relationships and start conversations regarding what safer spaces require among coworkers

• We will provide you with tools to keep up on your education as it pertains to the diversity of the lgbtq+ community

• Once all employees have completed the daily workshop we will provide you with a “safer space “ sticker for your space and PDF for your website.

• You will be certified DCP safer space with all the training and tools needed to maintain an inclusive environment.

After your training, we will welcome Nina Kovner @passionsquared to the stage! Nina will be sharing a story about finding her voice, living authentically, walking in purpose and how the impact it’s had on her business, mental health + joy.

We will then reveal our beautiful rainbow hair models and close our event!

100% of all proceeds will be donated directly to the onePULSE foundation. All educators & speakers have donated their time to make this event possible! Please help us reach our goal!

About the onePulse Foundation

The onePULSE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) incorporated by the owners of Pulse Nightclub. The onePULSE Foundation was established to create a sanctuary of hope around this tragic day in American history which honors the 49 lives that were taken, the 68 injured victims, the affected survivors and the first responders and healthcare professionals who cared for the victims. This fund is intended to support construction and maintenance of the memorial, community grants to care for the survivors and victims’ families, an educational program to promote amity among all segments of society, endowed scholarships for each of the 49 angels, and ultimately a museum showcasing historic artifacts and stories from the event. All donations will be used for the construction and operation of the official memorial and museum and educational scholarships. This is a defining mission and healing initiative that we hope inspires supporters who share our vision and understand the sacred responsibility to which we have been entrusted.Scholarships

Where will your donation go?

The onePULSE Foundation is in the process of creating 49 individual, annually awarded college scholarships named in honor of each victim and designed for their specific vocations, hobbies or life aspirations. We will be working closely with each of the victims’ families to identify and determine which scholarships would best honor their lives. Once the scholarships are established and fully funded, the onePULSE Foundation will begin the application process. Student applicants will submit an application, personal statement, and two letters of recommendation. All complete applications will be reviewed by a scholarship committee comprised of 11 business professionals, community leaders, and onePULSE family members. With 49 fully endowed scholarships, we can ensure the names and legacies of each of the 49 angels live on in perpetuity and are never forgotten.
