Event description

Description

Who: Want to learn how to catch rain water from your roof for your garden? Homeowners and anyone interested in learning more about rain barrels and stormwater catchment systems welcome! Minors under 18 require a signed waiver and children under 12 require an accompanying adult unless prior approval is obtained from the workday supervisor.

What: Learn how to design and install rain barrels for your own home garden by helping us install them at Hoover Park in Palo Alto. Learn how we can use rainbarrels to capture the rainwater from our roofs to irrigate landscaping. We will install rain barrels on the bathroom in the park, and the captured rain water from the bathroom roof will be used to water a newly installed native plant rain garden.

Where: We'll meet at Hoover Park in Palo Alto, near the bathrooms close to Cowper Street.

Please bring: A reusable water bottle and dress for outdoor work (sturdy shoes and long pants recommended). We provide gloves, tools, and snacks. Minors under 18 must bring a waiver form signed by a parent.
