Event description

Description

Learn how to recycle your old clothes and fabrics to create a wonderful rag rug.

In this 3-hour workshop you will learn about the tools and materials used in this traditional craft. You will be able to try a number of different techniques and methods before starting your project.

You could start a small rug or cushion during this session, or if you prefer to begin with a smaller project why not make a brooch/corsage, a decorative heart for your wall, or embellish a hessian bag.

There will be plenty of fabrics available, but you are welcome to bring some of your own if you wish. Suitable fabrics include T-shirting, sweat-shirting, fleece and wool fabric such as lambswool cardigans, scarves etc.(wash the wool on a hot wash to felt it prior to use).

Tickets include free admission to the museum.

Tools, hessian and hessian bags will be available to buy.
