About this Event

*Update*

The summit has now been rescheduled to September 30th, 2020 at United Steelworkers Hall located at 25 Cecil St, Toronto, ON M5T 1N1.

*Postponed*

In light of recent circumstances concerning COVID-19, we regret to inform you that our Inaugural Racial Justice Summit on March 30th at Ryerson University will be postponed to a later date in this Fall 2020.

We have been closely monitoring the situation for the past few days and while this decision was not taken lightly, we believe this is in the best interests of those attending and the general public. We take the health and safety of our guests and participants very seriously and want to ensure the well-being of the community.

We will keep everyone updated with details of the new date in a couple of weeks time.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.

At this event, we hope to create a forum where racial justice advocates from various backgrounds can engage in dialogue and learn from one another. They can build relationships and collaborations to enhance their work in the field.

This full-day event will begin with registration at 8:30am. We will then kick things off with our keynote panel. That will be followed by our first set of breakout sessions. Each attendee is asked to select a session based on their interests. After the session, we will have a catered lunch. Following that, we will have our second set of breakout sessions. Finally the day will conclude around 4pm with a panel aimed at broad call to action.

This inaugural year's summit will include themes of anti-black racism, islamophobia, and xenophobia. Over the course of the day, we will explore various sub-topics such as education, labour, justice and health.

Stay up-to-date with recent developments via our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/events/2024904017655025/) and our Eventbrite page. If you have any questions, please contact info@urbanalliance.ca.
