Event description

Description

Chicago Public Schools has offered a proposal for the K-12 schools in the South Loop. In this three-part series, community members and experts will work to evaluate the benefits and burdens of the Chicago Public Schools proposal to close National Teachers Academy and open a neighborhood high school.

This will be a productive dialogue reviewing history, data, and community experiences through the use of a Racial Equity Analysis, a tool that is used in over 125 governments in 30 states across America. Chicagoans will work together to promote community voice, evaluate impacts of this plan, and design solutions that serve all students in an equitable and inclusive way.

This FINAL session will be focused on discussing ways to promote equity in the NTA proposal moving forward. If you have an alternative proposal you would like to present, please attend earlier sessions and/or contact CUE organizers at ChicagoUnitedforEquity@gmail.com to pre-register your presentation.
