Event description

Description

Chicago Public Schools has offered a proposal for the K-12 schools in the South Loop. In this three-part series, community members and experts will work to evaluate the benefits and burdens of the Chicago Public Schools proposal to close National Teachers Academy and open a neighborhood high school.

This will be a productive dialogue reviewing history, data, and community experiences through the use of a Racial Equity Analysis, a tool that is used in over 125 governments in 30 states across America. Chicagoans will work together to promote community voice, evaluate impacts of this plan, and design solutions that serve all students in an equitable and inclusive way.

This session will be focused on reviewing data specifically. Education researchers will present first, then we will host a community dialogue and deliberations.

**Doors open at 5:30 with dinner served. Event will start at 6 PM.**
