*WE ARE HOPING TO OPEN THE EVENT TO MORE PEOPLE. WE ARE DELIGHTED BY THE RESPONSE. Check back at noon today, Friday, Jan. 15.

About this Event

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer declared the racial disparities in health care a public health crisis. What does this look like in Holland?

Panelists and people attending will discuss impact of racism in four sectors, concluding with The Way Forward toward proposed solutions.

Included will be sessions on

  • Inequities in Elder Care;
  • Disparities in Childbirth;
  • Mental Health: Race Matters; and
  • Healing Our Youth.

Presented by the Alliance for Cultural and Ethnic Harmony (ACEH) in collaboration with the 1Cor13Project and in partnership with the Holland Museum's Cultural Lens series.

To honor the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the event will include music by the Maple Avenue Ministries ensemble and a recitation of Dr. King's words on health and racism. Registration required.

Whether you are a health care professional and an ally - or a health care consumer who wants to be a better advocate for yourself and your family - this is for you.

How is it being addressed? How can you help address it? How can you be an ally?

Kindly register by Friday, January 15. Thank you.
