Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church is honored to host an evening of dialogue focused on responding to racism from an interfaith perspective. Rev. Jim Wallis, founder of Sojourners (sojo.net) and author of America's Original Sin: Racism, White Privilege, and the Bridge to a New America, will deliver a keynote address and moderate a panel of local anti-racism experts to help our community respond to the devastating impact racism has on our neighborhood and our nation. Come for an inspiring evening and hear the call to do the hard work of dismantling racism. You can order a ticket with a copy of America's Original Sin (pick up your copy at the box office). Seating is general admission, so arrive early for best selection.
The Anti-Racism Panelists include:
• Anika Bowie, Vice President of NAACP MPLS
• Rev. Dr. Curtiss DeYoung, CEO of Minnesota Council of Churches
• Jaylani Hussein, Executive Director of CAIR-Minnesota (CAIR-MN)
• Sondra Samuels, President and CEO of Northside Achievement Zone
This evening also features the following in Carlson Hall:
• Local anti-racism organizations to engage with and get you activated, including NAACP MPLS, Minnesota Council of Churches, CAIR-Minnesota (CAIR-MN), YWCA Minneapolis, SURJ MN: Showing Up for Racial Justice - Minnesota, MN chapter of the General Commission on Religion and Race, and the Racial Equity Action Support Network of Amherst H. Wilder Foundation,
• A gallery of social justice artwork by Ricardo Levins Morales Art Studio and 2019 calendars for sale.
• A pop-up Cokesbury bookstore featuring anti-racism materials.
• A chance to sign-up for one of four 5-week small group studies of "America's Original Sin." (http://haumc.org/register)
• A concession stand with light refreshments.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Students agree to show their current student ID at the door when purchasing a Student ticket.
What are my transportation and parking options?
Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church (511 Groveland Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55403, http://haumc.org) is on the 4, 6, and 12 Metro Transit bus lines (http://metortransit.org). Limited free parking is available on-site and ample underground pay parking is across the street at the Vineland Place ramp at Walker Art Center (727 Vineland Place, Minneapolis, MN 55403, https://www.mplsparking.com/).
Which entrance should I use?
Please use the parking lot entrance on the east side of the building. Look for a tall glass entrance with an inlaid blue cross in the window. If you're taking a cab/Uber/Lyft, please be sure to ask your drivfer to take you to the parking lot entrance, as these services often attempt to drop people off at the classic entrance on the north side of the building, which will be locked!
Where do I go upon entry?
If you already have a ticket, skip the box office and enter the building to Carlson Hall where you'll find the Action Tables ready for you. You'll show your ticket at the entrance of the Sanctuary.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You can show your e-ticket on your phone or bring a printed ticket.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes.
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
