Event description
Help create packets for the Kansas Food Bank Food-4-Kids program.

About this Event

As part of the R1 Helping Hands Initiative, we are looking for 10-15 volunteers on Friday, July 26th from 1:30-3:30 pm to help the Kansas Food Bank sort items for their Food-4-Kids program. You will enjoy working with your fellow employees and providing this service to children in need.

To volunteer during scheduled work hours, please obtain approval with your supervisor.

For any questions, please contact Jayze Flake at jflake@r1rcm.com.

Please keep the following in mind when visiting the Kansas Food Bank:

• You will be working in a warehouse environment.

• Dress Code. Closed toed shoes are required in the warehouse. Please be advised that there are sometimes extremes in temperature, you may want to bring a jacket.

• No food or drink in the warehouse. Cold, bottled water will be provided for you. In order to meet health and safety standards, any other beverages or food that are brought in will have to be left at the front desk.

• Carpool. We ask that you carpool, as construction has begun on our new Volunteer Center, parking is limited. If the main parking lot along Douglas is full, you can park within the gated area along the iron fence on the East. Be advised that this is the area our semis and large trucks use to load and unload so park close to the fence.

• Leave your valuables at home or in your car. We do not have lockers for volunteers to keep valuables in.

• Age requirements. Any volunteer age 17 and under must have adult supervision (over age 18). No car seats or strollers are allowed in the warehouse. We ask that you not bring small children with you for your volunteer experience.
