This is part 2 of the Quickbooks / Bookkeeping series. Part 1 covers monthly billing extensively. Part 2 is a very comprehensive view of most Quickbooks functions. The scope is broad, hence it is general. It covers most of the modules and their processes resulting in useful reports that help us monitor company progress and performance.
Having been in business for twelve years, Terry also wants to briefly share her insight on what it means to be a business owner / leader.

Using Quickbooks as the accounting platform:
- 5-minute accounting 101; an overview of two major financial reports; balance sheet and profit and loss, and the five major types of accounts that make up these two reports.
- Two basic components of Quickbooks: chart-of-accounts and Items set-up.
- Home page and its 5 major navigators (vendors, customers, employees, company and banking) and their main functions and resulted useful reports.
- Bank / credit card reconciliation.
About the Presenter
Terry Chong is an accounting graduate from Golden Gate University. She worked with a small, local CPA firm for seven years before starting out on her own. She once dreamed of pursuing affordable housing for middle-income families, and attended classes at the architecture department of City College of San Francisco. She works regularly with architects and contractors and is familiar with design and construction phases, which allows her to customize Quickbooks; a widely used accounting software to ease the workflow of monthly billing and job costing. “Focus-Grow Bookkeepers, your in-house accountants” is the motto. Terry aspires to be the best and biggest bookkeepers’ cooperative in San Francisco where all accountant-members can fully perform at clients’ sites and all take home a decent pay.
