It's a salute to our Veterans!!! Comedy show hosted by Joe Torry: Possessing an unparalleled star power through his wit and superb charm, Joe Torry successfully garners the attention of comedy connoisseurs worldwide. Joe Torry burst into the Hollywood forefront early in his career with a unique skill to connect with various audiences. Flawlessly, he projects his unique flair onto the stage and screen. Before his claim to fame as the host of Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam, Torry starred in hit comedies House Party and Strictly Business and made television appearances on E.R. and NYPD Blue. From here, he continued to gain significant movie roles in Poetic Justice, Sprung, Tales from the Hood, Motives 1 & 2 and Mannsfield 12. Joe essentially transformed the camera into his own stage as he retained the whimsical characteristics that he utilized as a stand-up comic. Eventually, his talented acts caught the attention of numerous corporations worldwide. In turn, he earned endorsement spots for Anheuser Busch, Pepsi, Nike and Gold Beer. Prior to Torry’s rise to stardom, he was humbly raised with five siblings as Army brats in St. Louis, Missouri and successfully earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications at Lincoln University. As a philanthropist, Joe utilizes his talent and strong family values to benefit communities worldwide but specifically in his hometown of St. Louis when he established the “Giving Back the Love Foundation” to sponsor youth and community programs. The foundation has assisted in mentoring over 30,000 children and families on the importance of health care awareness and education. His passionate determination to inspire the community to excel has allowed Joe to reach millions through his persistent endeavors.

The show is featuring Comedian Steve Brown: When Steve Brown takes the stage he amazes his audience with his witty remarks, extremely original jokes, and his high-energy physical antics. This man is currently reigning and will be soon recognized as one of the greatest comedians of our time. He is blazing a trail across the United States, headlining at major comedy clubs, performing at famous venues, and doing one of his most favorite jobs, hosting university events. His excitement for performing at universities stems from his love for his alma mater, Stillman College. During his freshman year, Steve discovered his talent and began his career as a comedian. He continued to work towards mastering his craft throughout his collegiate stint, and after the completion of his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications he began to pursue comedy as a professional career. Steve is also a distinguished gentleman of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. Through diligence, persistence, and patience his career has landed him appearances on nationally televised shows. Steve Brown was born in Detroit, Michigan, but was raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where a lot of his comedic material was derived from. He enjoyed a spiritual upbringing as a result of being raised in the church by his grandparents. This rearing explains why some of his funniest comedic material is derived from the church, and throughout the years he has continued to show his love for church congregations while on stage. After Steve takes the stage; your first impression of him may be a confused one as his high-pitched voice coupled with his fraternity brands and tattoos seem to contradict each other. Steve’s act is unparalleled and dissimilar to any other comedians around. In addition to his powerful stage presence, Steve has also traveled and performed with the likes of J. Anthony Brown, Eddie Griffin, Martin Lawrence, Bill Bellamy, and Rickey Smiley, but no matter who takes the stage before or after him, his act is a tough one to precede or to follow. He has also worked along the sides of R&B artists, as well as some of today’s top Hip Hop artists during concerts and music videos. He is truly multifaceted while focusing on his main goal which is: “Making YOU laugh!”

Also featuring Big Kenney: Kenneth “Big Kenney” Johnson, originally from Chicago, now residing in Atlanta, has established himself as one of Atlanta’s brightest and most-talented comedians. The influence of his parents as well as his harsh surroundings gave him his own perspective on his life, his country, and the troubles of his people. The style of the young comedian is RAW, plain and simple. “I give it to the audience the same way life gives it to me. I pull no punches on stage, that is what I am most comfortable with and the people love it.” “People think comedy is about just being happy, comedy is more about pain than anything else. You can see 20,000 people in one place laugh at the same joke because they have the same pain.” Throughout his youth Shuler King was known as the one with all the jokes, despite all of his personal obstacles. By the time he was in middle school most on his friends sold drugs. “My parents worked hard to keep myself and my two siblings on the right track, as best as they could.” Coming out of highschool he never wanted to go to college, because he felt he wouldn’t get accepted anywhere. ” I was smart, but I never applied it in school. The curriculum was boring to me, because I felt that it was useless to everyday life.” Shuler attended Sumter High School were his mother, Mrs. Williams teaches English. To the surprise of many he ended up attending and graduating from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Arts in 2007. During his attendance he joined the Mighty Illustrious Zeta Zeta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi in the Spring of 2007. In 2013 Shuler King graduated from Gupton Jones Mortuary College with a degree in Mortuary Science. That decision was made because he wanted to help his family continue there legacy at Williams Funeral Home Inc, located at 821 North Main st in Sumter, SC. The value of having an education has not left Shuler King yet. He is currently working on a Masters Degree from Wake Forrest University. Regardless of any experiences that Shuler King has had or will have in his life, one thing that has always been concrete is his gift of comedy. On April 14, 2004, when he was just 19 years old he decided to take the stage at the NCO Club at Shaw Air Force Base. The Acts that night were Big Kenny, Barbra Carlyle and Sugar Bear. That night was proof that Shuler King could do just what he thought he could. Ever since then he has been stirring up a fuss at the comedy clubs around him.
