QUENTON RUBIN

In the vibrant music world, Quenton (Que) Rubin has journeyed through diverse eras and genres, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. In 1984, fresh out of high school, Que performed with Levert on WDMT Video Magazine, delivering the electrifying guitar solo on the hit single "I’m Still." Though Que’s time with the band was brief, as he left for Berklee College of Music, Que returned to play a final show with Levert, opening for the O’Jays at the Front Row Theater. These early years were pivotal, filled with memorable performances, including sharing the stage with his aunt, Vanessa Rubin, and meeting George Benson, who recognized Que’s talent and gifted him an amplifier at just 14 years old. These formative experiences laid the foundation for a career that would see Que become a versatile and sought-after musician.

At age 19, with only $7 to his name, Que made the bold decision to leave Berklee and move to NYC to pursue his dream. This gutsy move proved worthwhile and led to him performing with a range of artists from two-time Grammy-nominated and AMA winning R&B artist Al B Sure on the 1988 worldwide Heartbreak Tour with New Edition and Bobby Brown to collaborating with Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars on the Que & Malaika HipRocSoul project in 2004. Que’s career has been a series of significant milestones, from playing with Meli’sa Morgan and Keith Sweat, working with Brenda K. Starr, and becoming a member of the R & B group EnTouch to playing legendary venues like the Viper Room in L.A. Que’s journey also includes a 2006 solo project, "Poor Little Rich Boy" that will be re-released on all streaming platforms, produced by Al Sutton and Peter Mochran, featuring tracks that showcas Que’s dynamic style.

After taking a 15-year hiatus to raise his children, in 2022 Que returned to the music scene to perform with a top local band, Realiiztik Soul. In 2024, Que continues to ignite the stage with his own band, QRB, bringing a new wave of irresistible grooves and soulful funk. With each phase, Que has pushed the boundaries of his artistry, leaving a legacy of innovation and passion in the world of music.
