Join us Tuesday October 29th for a panel discussion exploring bold and brave approaches to LGBTQIA+ inclusion in education.

About this Event

Ireland has come a long way but cis-hetero-normativity continues to shape the way we live, the way we love, and the way we learn.

Join us Tuesday October 29th for a panel discussion exploring bold and brave approaches to LGBTQIA+ inclusion and the celebration of queer identities. We will discuss what we mean by ‘queering the curriculum’ and look to innovative examples of this practise across the arts, education and sexual and reproductive rights.

How can practitioners from a spectrum of disciplines come together to weave diverse narratives? How can we embolden people to queer discourses in their own fields of work, study, activism, their creative passions? These are just some of the questions we hope to explore with you on the 29th.

We have an incredible group of panelists who will walk us through approaches they have taken to queering discourses of education, art, activism, and STEM. Joining us in discussion will be Joe Caslin, Lara Cutlar, Wren Dennehy, Cecelia Gavigan, and Ailbhe Smyth.

This panel is open to all those who support LGBTQIA+ inclusion in Ireland and are interested in finding out ways to make this a reality. Tickets are €5.00 (through EventBrite) and proceeds will be used to cover event costs or fund the work of ShoutOut going forward.

Entry is free for anyone living in Direct Provision or of limited means, including students and the unwaged or underemployed. Please just send us an email at development@shoutout.ie to put your name on the list (no explanations or justifications needed - just let us know you’d like a concession).
