This month our class is being led by the amazing Tony Asaro. Tony first discovered yoga in 2008 when an injury necessitated a lifestyle change. What he found was so much more than physical fitness.
Tony believes that yoga should be welcoming and accessible to all people. He always keeps his classes fun and enjoyable. His vinyasa style is heavily influenced by Iyengar and calisthenics. His body is not the long, lithe physique you might see on the cover of Yoga Journal, and figuring out how the poses and transitions manifest in his anatomy heavily informs how he sequences. Tony focuses on building strength and releasing tension through alignment, lengthening, and breath. Also, he’s pretty funny, and makes great playlists for his classes.
