Event description

Description

In a time of greater inclusion and diversity in some quarters, and increasing exclusion and xenophobia in others, there is great popular interest in Buddhist views on contemporary social issues, including gender and sexuality. What is the relationship between gender and ethics? Can members of the gay, lesbian, and transgender community achieve awakening? In this talk, Karma Lekshe Tsomo will discuss constructions of gender from a Buddhist perspective and explore questions of sexual ethics and diversity, based on Buddhist texts and values, as well as social realities.

7pm: Meditation
7.30pm: Dhamma Talk & Discussion
