How to Fix a Broken Heart
Queen's Speaking of Health lecture (FREE) - Wed., Feb. 27, 2019

A fall or car accident could cause a heart trauma that you might not know about. Or, as you get older, you could have a damaged aortic valve; are you at risk and what are the symptoms? How are lives saved and hearts repaired? Find out with Peter Tsai, MD, medical director of Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Benjamin Plank, MD, interventional cardiologist, from The Queen’s Medical Center.

• Cardiac and thoracic trauma
• Penetrating and non-penetrating trauma to the chest

• Injury to heart valves and vessels
• Injury to aorta and great vessels
• Aortic valve stenosis – what is it, who can get it, symptoms and treatment options
• Transcatheter aortic valve replacement -- what is it, how is it done, who can get it

Space is limited. Reservations are required. Register online or call The Queen’s Referral Line at 691-7117.

Parking is available for a $5 flat rate with validation in the Physicians Office Building III, which is recommended since it is the closest to the Queen's Conference Center. Enter from Lauhala St. You can also park at the Physicians Office Building I and Miller parking garages for the same $5 flat rate with validation.

Can’t make the lecture? Watch the recording online about 2 weeks after the event on Queen’s YouTube channel: QMCHawaii. Click here to check out our past lectures on stress, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, bone health, weight loss and more.
