Description

What is QMUN?

Queen’s Model United Nations is an annual MUN conference held at Queen’s University campus in Kingston, Ontario. 2018 will mark the 33rd year for QMUN, making it one of the longest running MUN conferences in Canada. QMUN is a non-profit student organized conference that brings together 150 delegates from all faculties at Queen’s, to participate in debate on international affairs.

The theme of 2018 is "Global Development and Migration". 6 separate committees will debate sub-topics on the overarching theme over the 3 days of the conference. QMUN's second annual General Assembly will also be held this year. All 150 delegates will be brought together on the second day of debate to interact in a crisis style debate format.

Participation at QMUN does not require prior experience at a model UN conference or membership in a MUN team! We welcome all delegates to attend! The size of the conference provides students with a more intimate and comprehensive debating experience to engage in discussion about pressing international issues and develop solutions while applying various global perspectives.

The delegate fee will encompass attendance for an open ceremony wine and cheese, 3 days of debate, speeches from multiple keynote speakers, evening socials, a formal banquet dinner, and closing ceremonies and awards.

Registration is first come first serve so apply now!

Bursary Information

The Campus Activities Commission Bursary is available to help subsidize the cost for delegates who wish to seek financial assistance. The CAC bursary can be found on the AMS website. Bursary applications must be submitted to cac@ams.queensu.ca by November 10th, at 5pm. Submitting a CAC bursary acts in the place of registration and will hold a spot for you until bursary applications are reviewed, at which time all applicants will be notified of their application status. Bursary applicants will receive a special registration link regardless of whether you are successfull or not - please do not complete the registration form at this time if you are applying for a bursary.
