Event description

Description

The Friends of Nathan Foundation at Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley is hosting a fall Quarter Auction to raise funds to help children with cerebral palsy and other debilitating diseases. All donations are reserved exclusively for local children who are supported by the Friends of Nathan Foundation and are not added to the Easterseals general fund.

Dozens of vendors will be featured to purchase goods from and win raffle items from during the auction. The FONF encourages guests to purchase items from the vendors during the event.

Cost of each paddle is $10. You can purchase an unlimited number of paddles to increase your chances of winning raffle items.

Sign up today to reserve your spot! You will pay for paddles upon arrival at the event and numbers are given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

About Quarter Auction Fundraisers

  1. When you arrive, you’ll pay for one or more auction paddles each with a number on it. All paddle funds go to FONF. You’ll use your paddle(s) to bid on the items and services auctioned.

  2. Before the auction starts you can walk around the room to see what may be offered for bidding and purchase goods from vendors.

  3. After you're finished visiting vendor tables and making purchases, you will sit in the center of the room to wait for the auction to start.

  4. When the auction begins, vendors will describe their donated auction items and state how many quarters it is worth. Each item is typically worth 3-8 quarters.

  5. Your bid will be collected by volunteers, then you will raise your paddle(s).

  6. Next the MC will draw a number at random out of a bowl. If that number matches the number on the paddle of someone who has bid on the item, they win it. However, if the person that number belongs to didn’t bid on it, another number is drawn. This is done until there’s a winner.

  7. All the numbers drawn for an item are placed back in the bowl, which means you can win more than one item. This process continues until all of the items have been won.

  8. If you have multiple paddles, you must multiply the quarters by how many paddles you wish to raise. For example, if the bid on an item is a quarter and you only want to bid for it once, you simply put 25 cents in the pot. If you want to bid for it twice, you would drop 50 cents in the pot; to bid three times, you’d drop in 75 cents, etc. Only the numbers on the paddles you hold up are eligible for that item.
