Description

Quantum Game Jam, the first ever game jam co-organised with quantum physicists, aims at developing games that solve open problems in quantum information, quantum cryptography and cosmology.

In a game jam participants create a playable game from scratch in a restricted time period. Participants can be anything from game professionals to newbies. In Quantum Game Jam, we also have quantum physicist as team members!

Quantum Game Jam starts at 18:00 Friday and ends in a public seminar on Sunday presenting the games for the audience.

Quantum Game Jam special guest SF author Hannu Rajaniemi together with quantum physicist Sabrina Maniscalco will open up the jam and also participate in making the games for the whole weekend.

Quantum Game Jam participants will be provided with free catering (Friday dinner, Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch). Accommodation tickets also include breakfast. A bus will take the participants from Turku to Tuorla (leaves from the Turku central railway station Friday at 17:00) and back (you can also come with your own car).

There is also an option to use Tuorla Planetarium (full dome projection) for your jam game.

Quantum Game Jam is organised by the Turku Centre for Quantum Physics (University of Turku), Finnish Game Jam ry, Game Research Lab (University of Tampere), and Up Your Game Network (Turku School of Economics). The event takes place at Tuorla Observatory, Finland.
