Description

Quality Management

Taught by Jon Padfield, Upon completion, Students will receive a Certificate of Training from IUPUC, Indiana University Purdue University Columbus, Center for Business and Economic Development.

Quality is about much more than just offering a reliable product or service. Participants in this course will learn about all the elements involved in managing quality in a modern business. Those elements include understanding what quality really is, all of the tasks involved in determining the appropriate level of quality for a company to meet, and understanding the role each person in the organization plays in managing quality.

This course will illustrate the different definitions of quality and explain the “economics of quality”. While more companies suffer business failure from having too low of quality, it is also possible for a company to fail because they are spending too much money to maintain higher quality standards than customers really care about.

This course will help organizational leaders and the people who report to them better understand how “quality” affects every aspect of their work from filling out forms to designing new products to communicating with customers.

Participants will learn how to make quality a competitive advantage for their company regardless of what their job is within the company by applying best practices to understand what is important to their customers (either within the company or end users) and collecting feedback from their customers to continuously improve their value of their jobs. Numerous case studies, experiences, and applications from current events are used to illustrate how the material covered in this course works in real organizations.
