REGISTRATION OPENS ON FEBRUARY 6, 2018

Please join us for a fun-filled, learning-packed day of professional development and growth opportunities.

We are excited to introduce our Key Note Speaker - Dr. Rebecca Isbell. This internationally-known early educaton advocate will inspire us with "Nurturing Young Creative Thinkers: For Today and the Future."

The keynote address will take place in the Cornelison Event Center at the Konocti Education Center, located within walking distance of the Lake County Campus of Woodland Community College. PLEASE PARK AT THE COLLEGE.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. There will be raffle prizes. Professional Growth hours can be earned for attendance.

You will be required to choose your breakout sessions to complete your Eventbrite registration. We ask that you look over the selections carefully. Choose one (1) breakout session for the morning, and one (1) breakout session for the afternoon.

MORNING BREAKOUTS

AM-Breakout Session 1
Dr. Rebecca Isbell - Creating Environments that Inspire Young Children and their Teachers
This breakout will look at creating environments to inspire young thinkers and the teachers in the classroom. This breakout will be presented by our Keynote Speaker.

AM-Breakout Session 2
Lisa Bady - The Magic of Puppetry:Making Puppets Come Alive in Your Classroom!
Enter into the world of puppetry with Lisa (assisted by Plumkin) and find out how to bring puppets to life.

AM-Breakout Session 3
Rosario Morris - Music in the Classroom: Preschool, TK, Kindergarten and Elementary!
This breakout is filled with fun and will give you ideas on songs, fingerplays, and tips for transitions. Rosario brings life to the ukulele in this fun-filled session!

AM-Breakout Session 4
Vanessa Ochoa - Disability Rights California and Vanessa's Story
This session focuses on where to find resources if you need assistance with a child with special needs. Come learn about Vanessa. She shares her personal story from a parent's perspective on advocating for your child.

AM-Breakout Session 5
Morgan Sedrick - Strengthening Families; Protective Factors Framework
Five Protective Factors are the foundation of the Strengthening Families Approach: parental resilience, social connections, concrete support in times of need, knowledge of parenting and child development, and social and emotional competence of children. Research studies support the common-sense notion that when these Protective Factors are well established in a family, the likelihood of child abuse and neglect diminishes. This breakout will touch upon these factors in a short condensed workshop.

Vanessa Goodrich - Early Math
This breakout will give you tips and tricks on how to bring math into the classroom.

Brian Merrier from Autism, Advocacy, and Intervention (AAI) - Early Intervention and How to Support Children in your Classrooms with Special Needs
This breakout will provide information about early intervention and how to support children with special needs and how to work with families.

Carla Ritz - The Brain Architecture Game: A game about the powerful role of relationships on early brain development.
The Brain Architecture Game is a tabletop game experience that builds understanding of the powerful role of experiences on early brain development – what promotes it, what derails it, and how that affects society.
