Description

*places are limited* - Cheaper booking fees by booking direct via http://www.annkeenaghan.com/masterzhu.html

A unique opportunity to learn and practice with world-renowned teacher, doctor and gold medalist Master Shaofan Zhu. This 3-day workshop in the philosophy and practice of Qi Gong and Taoist meditation takes place in beautiful Connemara, just minutes from Galway City. One-to-one medical and coaching consultations also available. This is a rare chance to acquire ancient knowledge and practical skills that you can apply in your daily life to boost your physical and mental wellbeing.

This training is proudly hosted by Ann Keenaghan of the Ionad Bhríde healing centre.

Master Shaofan Zhu is the founder of the China Wushu Institute (www.chinawushu.ch). He is originally from southern China, where he studied and practiced martial arts from an early age. In 1996 he won a gold medal in his disciplines, Taiji Faust and Taiji sword. He went on to win two more golds, this time at the European championships in 2000.

Master Shaofan has also studied and trained in Myoreflex therapy and traditional Chinese medicine at the University of Chengdu. He continued his education with the Fei family of Nanjing, China, who have passed Chinese medicine knowledge and Qi Gong training down through fifteen generations. Myoreflex therapy is a treatment that combines Western medical knowledge and neurophysiology with traditional techniques from Chinese medicine.

Qi Gong is an ancient respiratory therapy based on Taoist philosophy and has been practiced in China for thousands of years. It uses physical movements to restore balance and flow of Qi (energy) in the body to bring about and maintain wellness, in mind, body and spirit. Through these movements, Qi Gong brings you into a state of meditation. The positive medical effects of Qi Gong have been recognised by the World Health Organisation. What’s more, there is no upper age limit to learning or practicing Qi Gong, so it’s a skill that will serve you throughout your life.

Master Shaofan does speak English - however, he will be assisted with translation when teaching the theory and philosophy of Qi Gong and Taoist meditation. Participants have the opportunity to go on to study and become a Qi Gong teacher with Master Shaofan at one of his courses in Ireland, Switzerland, Germany or China.

One-to-one appointments

Master Shaufan Shaufan will see clients on a one-to-one basis in Spiddal on the 17th and 18th July. He will see people who are in need of immediate relief and healing from pain or illness. He is also available to see people who want to make the most of his vast knowledge and experience in coaching individuals on their life path. He has coached leaders in all walks of life, whether in business, community or sport, and has worked with top business people, football coaches and teams in Switzerland and Germany. After consulting with clients and listening to their needs, he usually gives them specific Qi Gong movements to continue practicing after the session. These will help open up flow in their own energy and in their lives in general.

Places on the training course and one-to-one appointments are limited.

The cost of the training course is €550. This includes tea/coffee each morning (please note that lunch is not included). There are lots of bed and breakfasts and hotels in the Galway, Salthill and Spiddal areas, although it is advisable to book early as summer can be busy.

A deposit of €250 will secure a place now, with the balance to be paid by July 15th.

1-hour one-to-one appointments are charged at €150.
