QDF Class XChange #2: Ballet for All + Intro to African Dance Classes!

Join us in-person for dance classes at RWS Studios in Long Island City (37-12 35th St, Queens, NY 11101) taught by the 2022 Queensboro Dance Festival choreographers.

Proficient dancers trained in a different technique are welcome to take class. Limited spots for safety; please RSVP to be on the attendee list. If RSVPs fill up online, you are welcome to walk-in in case of no shows-- follow us on IG for updates or e-mail queensborodancefestival@gmail.com day of.

12:00pm - 1:00pm: Ballet for all with Sheep Meadow Dance Theatre. Blanken uses a mindful approach to ballet technique with a focus on body awareness, kinesthetic learning, musicality and movement dynamics. He nurtures specific ballet qualities including classicism, aplomb, and use of the torso to create resilience patterning suitable for recreational to professional dancers. The class is thorough but uncomplicated with emphasis on creating efficient movement. @billyblanken

1:00pm - 2:00pm: Intro to African Dance Movements with FANIKE! African Dance Troupe. Join us as we explore the ancient & modern movement of West African dance. @fanike_dance_troupe

All attendees must follow any venue COVID policies in place at the time. Masks and vaccination required.
