Description

**UPDATE: Full Fare and T-shirt orders are closed as of 6:00 pm on 27 April 2019. However, don't despair! For $10.00 you can still participate in the event, just without a T-shirt. So, come on out to remember our fallen comrades and reflect on their sacrifice as you run (or walk!) through the beautiful Semper Fidelis Park!! Just go to the "Tickets" button and sign up for the "Just in Time" ticket. Also, the "Donation" button is still active, if you'd like to help fund our scholarships.***

Join us on May 27, 2019 at the 2nd Annual Quantico Area Chapter Run to Honor Remembrance Run to honor our fallen U. S. Naval Academy alumni, conducted in partnership with the non-profit organization Run to Honor. This year’s event is dedicated to Lieutenant James Surch, Jr., USN, Class of ’77, who perished in the Beirut bombing on 23 October 1983.

The Semper Fidelis Memorial Park at the National Museum of the Marine Corps (18900 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Triangle, VA 22172) will be the setting for the run. Runners/walkers will check-in beginning at 6:30 am at the Molly Marine statue near the southwest corner of the Museum’s parking lot. Opening remarks, prayer, and a rendition of our National Anthem will begin at 7:30 am, after which the event will start. Runners/walkers will choose either a 5K or 1-mile course that winds through picturesque terrain past numerous memorials and monuments dedicated to our fellow warriors. Runners/walkers will take off in waves beginning at 8:00 am. The event will end at approximately 9:00 am, just as the Museum is opening, providing an opportunity to visit this unique venue.

Due to restrictions at the venue, the field is limited to 200 runners/walkers. Sign-up will close on 26 April so act fast so you do not miss this unique opportunity! The $35.00 event fee includes a commemorative T-shirt. A limited number of Early Bird spots are available for $30.00. Additional commemorative T-shirts are also available for sale for $25.00.

Men’s shirt sizes run from S-6XL. Sizing for the ladies shirts runs from XS-4XL. Please indicate your size and the number of T-shirts you want on your entry form. Access this link to see the T-shirts!
