Come one, come all - It's going down! Q-Boro Literary Crawl kicks off on April 28th in Forest Hills, and you're invited to take part in the festivities. Austin Street from 70th Avenue to 72nd Road will be filled with talented poets, writers, and comedians. The Street will be our meeting spot for a night of fun and excitement.
One of Forest Hills' most vibrant food and business corridors, Austin Street, is the perfect Queens hotspot for the continuation of the inaugural Q-Boro Literary Crawl. The event, the first of its kind in the borough, celebrates the literary and artistic community of Queens and NYC while creating a hip event celebrating National Poetry Month.
Come one, come all, bring a guest, and hang loose. This is going to be epic!

What is Q-Boro LitCrawl?
Q-Boro Lit Crawl celebrates the literary and artistic community of Queens and creates a hip event celebrating national poetry month. The event, the first of its kind in the borough, showcases the literary diversity and talent of writers and poets in Queens and surrounding boroughs.
How much does Q-Boro Crawl cost?
The Q-Boro Crawl is a fundraiser for the 2016 Queens Book Festival. All proceeds of the crawl will go towards the production of the book festival. The tickets afford you the special prices for food and beverages at the hosting venues. We encourage you to spend your hard earned cash at the venues that graciously host the readings. We believe in supporting local business and your patronage helps make that happen, along with contributing to their willingness to host us again next year!
On the night of the crawl, where can I go to find information?
You can stop by our information/check-in location at TWIST & SMASH'D 72-06 Austin St, Forest Hills, NY 11375. You can pick up maps, event guides, and speak with helpful folks that can point you in the right direction.
What are these numbers next to the venues everywhere on the website?
Each venue of the crawl can be located on the map by referencing its number on the map created for the crawl as well as the number listed at the venue. This is to help you get around faster during the night of the crawl.
Is there any way to attend all of the sessions?
Unless you're omnipresent, no. With over 30 separate sessions occuring, you can only attend one session per leg. Five sessions in total ain't bad... that's at least twice as many as you'd normally find on any one night!
I'd like to attend Q-Boro Crawl with my family / children / young adults / students under the legal drinking age. Are the sessions open to all ages?
Unfortunately, this is determined by the location of each session. Certain venues such as bars that only serve alcohol are 21 and over only. Other venues may not be legally inaccessible but still might not be appropriate for all ages (though this is true for many of the sessions as well). Use your best judgement of the event to determine if you are comfortable attending with children/young adults. All participants must have a ticket/bracelet to enter sessions at venues.
I'm excited about Q-Boro Crawl. Where can I talk to others and share thoughts on this event?
We're excited that you're excited! If you'd like to chat with other people interested in the crawl, please like our Facebook page here or the Facebook event page here. Then you can see who else is interested and join in the conversation. You can also follow us on Twitter (QueensBookFest) and Instagram (QueensBookFest). And if you'd like, please add #qborocrawl to any related tweets or photos you upload.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
You Can take the E or F Trains to 71st Continental Avenue and several of the buses that run to 71st Avenue. Please use Google or any other transportation you are comfortable with to get to the crawl!
What can/can't I bring to the event?
We are asking every to please remember that this is still a family and community event. Please do not bring recreational drugs to the crawl. This is not a BYOB nor BYOF event, we are here to support the location businesses on Austin Street.

When & Where
Queens Book Festival
The Queens Book Festival, debuting on August 7, 2016 at Kaufman Astoria Studios, is set to be the newest and most inclusive literary gathering in Queens. The festival --a celebration of diversity in reading, writing, publishing, and technology--was created to introduce the borough and area residents, especially the children and young adults, to the many facets and genres within the literary world. It is designed to ignite and foster a passion for reading in the children and youth of the borough while also encouraging literacy. At the same time, the Festival will celebrate authors and their literary contributions, while connecting these artists to the community at large.
With exhibitors and an ever-growing list of authors, the festival will feature non-stop panel discussions, book signings, an abundance of assorted entertainment and activities that will parallel the cornucopia of Queens.
