Description

  • Ages 10+: able to type, but no previous coding experience needed.
  • Students must bring their own computers.
  • Parents/Gaurdians must stay on site.
  • Class begins at 4:30. Please arrive on time or early. You must arrive before 5 PM in order to access the 11th floor.
  • Class is held on the 11th floor of the Expedia building in Bellevue.
  • Parking can found on the streets surrounding Expedia or in nearby paid for lots. You may also park in the Expedia parking and pay using the kiosk in the buildings lobby.

This class will teach kids the basics of Python by creating basic 2D arcade games.

Some of the topics that will be covered in this class are:

  • if logic
  • for loops
  • functions
  • basic program flow

This class is taught by volunteers from Expedia and UW Tacoma's Computer Science program. Students will be instructed and walked through designing a basic 2D game using the Python Programming lanuage. Volunteers will work one on one with students to assist them with questions and in manipulating the code. This class will meet every other Friday from 4:30 - 6 pm on the 11th Floor of the Expedia building.
