Event description

Description

This Workshop is Proudly Hosted by BayGeo and the University of San Francisco's Geospatial Analysis Lab

Learning Objectives

A three-session workshop covering the basics of the Python programming language and ArcPy, the ArcGIS Python module. Python is the most widely-taught language in the world, and used for all types of applications, including internet and data science tools. ArcPy allows for the automation of data processing, analysis, and map production within ArcGIS. By the end of the workshop, students will understand basic Python programming (iteration, decision-making) and will be able to create custom ArcGIS script tools.

Pre-Requisites: For students who have not previously used Python or other programming language, it is highly recommended to review the first 8 lessons of this brief Python introduction course: https://www.codecademy.com/learn/learn-python. The primer should take 1-2 hours to complete.

Your Instructor
