Description

Brief description:
Adding Python automation to a GIS workflow can turn a week long analysis into a push button processing that can run while you go to lunch. Learn about how to use Python to control analysis tools and to produce mapping output in this beginning Python for ArcGIS workshop. The four week course will cover specific components of ArcPy, such as Cursors and arcpy.mapping that can process data and compile analysis results while exporting maps out to PDF. We will also cover creating script tools and the basics of Python to give any analysis a solid introduction to GIS automation.

This class meets once (1) per week (6pm-9pm) for four (4) weeks/sessions. No class on Tuesday March 28, 2017.

Important Notes:
• Prerequisite Required: student must possess basic ArcGIS skills; the GIS Quick Start class would meet this requirement.

Workshop Includes:
• A 1 year license of Esri's ArcGIS 10x for personal use
• Hands-on lab time and opportunity to talk with instructors
• Certificate of Attendance
