Python Bootcamp at Berkeley
Description
The purpose of the bootcamp is to get those familiar with other computing languages (like C, Java, FORTRAN, and Lisp) ramped on the basics of the Python language. This is not a computer science class; understanding of basic CS concepts (like looping, recursion, etc.) are presupposed. The bootcamp itself is a mixture of formal lectures, in-class demos, coding breakout sessions for participants, and homework projects. The Camp will run from 8:30am to 5pm each day and is open to anyone within the UC Berkeley and LBNL community. There is also a limited number of slots available to industry members.
A help desk for those installing python and related packages will be held 10am-2pm on Sunday August 25 (place will be announced to those signed up for the bootcamp).
Sponsored in part by Github and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, Berkeley.
