Event description
Learn the ancient art of "Pysanky" with Odarka Polanskyj Stockert

About this Event

March 7 - 2:00 - 5:00 pm (afternoon session)

Pysanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist method. "Pysanka" comes from the verb pysaty, "to write" or "to inscribe", as the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax.

Participants will a share a unique hands-on experience to create these colorful masterpieces. Bring a smock and if you have access to free range chicken eggs bring a few (room temperature!) with you for the best possible shell.

Eggs will be provided for those who do not bring free range chicken eggs. All other materials included.

Participants will take home their work, as well as a Stylus and Wax to use at home. Please arrive on time!

Special Notes: Workshop size is restricted to 25. Minimum number of participants needed: 10. Children under age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent.
