Integrating Trauma-Informed Practice with Positive Behavior Supports 3/5/2019 (4:30-7:30PM)
As more classrooms are learning about trauma-informed care and positive behavior supports, teachers are needing ways of implementing these approaches so they can complement each other. This workshop will review how educators can used trauma-informed practices within a Positive Behavior Support framework. Talk Around the Clock! Promoting Effective Communication among Toddlers 5/7/2019 (4:30-7:30PM)
This workshop will focus on incorporating strategies to promote communication with toddlers throughout the school day. School days are full of routines and are opportune times to encourage communication development. We will share video examples, engaging activities, and simple ideas to build your confidence in becoming a communication champ! Make-and-take materials will be provided and classroom prizes will be distributed.

This workshop will focus on creating universal social-emotional supports for infants and toddlers. Come learn how to implement the Pyramid Model by using strategies that increase responsivity to individual children and promote peer interactions. Workshop will engage participants in large and small group learning exercises. Effective teaching strategies will be shared so that teachers can begin implementing best practices in their classrooms.

Share PWPBS Winter/Spring 2019Training Series

Event Details

A FREE workshop series funded by the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County.

Please select ALL sessions you want to attend and then you will be prompted to complete registration demographic form.

Sessions focus on effective strategies that promote social-emotional development and address challenging behavior in young children birth to five years old through implementation of the Pyramid Model.Topics are geared for teachers, teaching assistants, early childhood coaches, administrators, therapists, and mental health providers. A certificate of training hours will be provided upon completion of training.

Eunice Lopez, Paola Ramirez, Dana Peña, Jennifer Klue, Lisa Knight, Erin Sizemore, and Anna Winneker

 

Some sessions may require additional craft items for make-and-takes. Registrants will receive an email listing what items to bringviders. A certificate of training hours will be provided upon completion of training.

What can I bring into the event?

All participants must bring: water-based markers, scissors, pen/pencil, glue, and 2 manila folders in order to complete make-and-take.

Some sessions require participants to bring additional craft items for make-and-takes. Registrants will receive an email listing what items to bring.
